The Greenwood Redevelopment Commission recently approved a proposal for a $22 million sports village and hotel in Greenwood. Florida-based GoodSports Enterprises Global LLC expects to break ground this fall and open next year.

The proposed site is located on the southeast corner of County Line Road and I-65. Once built, the village would be comprised of an 85,000 square foot state-of-the-art fieldhouse with an adjacent 124-room athlete-minded hotel, known as the “GoodSports Hotel.”

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation recently announced plans to locate an ULTA, Inc. cosmetic fulfillment and distribution center in Greenwood, creating up to 537 new jobs by 2018.

The Bolingbrook, Ill.-based company, which offers a combination of more than 20,000 prestige and mass beauty products through ULTA Beauty retail stores and Ulta.com, will invest $51.6 million to lease and equip a 670,000 square-foot facility in Greenwood. This will be ULTA’s first Indiana fulfillment center, which is expected to start shipments in summer 2015.
