Update from the Statehouse

Written by emallers on January 14th, 2014

I’m excited to be back at the Statehouse and have wasted no time getting to work. House Speaker Brian Bosma recently announced the House Republican Legislative Agenda which focuses on five key areas to strengthen Indiana: preparing kids for their careers, connecting crossroads to communities, equipping our workforce, cutting taxes and stopping burdensome regulations.

I recently met with a group of homeowners in Johnson County to discuss their concerns with homeowners associations. In response to their concerns, I am authoring House Bill 1072 . The purpose of this bill is to provide an easier way to resolve disputes between homeowners and their associations. Additionally, the bill establishes a study committee to further discuss homeowners associations in Indiana, including mediation of disputes. The bill has been referred to the Judiciary Committee and is currently awaiting a hearing.

I appreciate your input on this and other pieces of legislation. I invite you to visit my website and take my legislative survey.  Your answers to the questions on this survey will provide me with a better understanding of how to serve you and our community. I am grateful for the opportunity to represent you at the Statehouse, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

untitled
